November Favorites

Hi everyone,

As it’s the end of the month, I thought it would be the perfect time to do my November favorites. I have fun mix of items this month, so let’s get into it.

Starting with beauty, all of my favorites are from my November Sephora Play Box, which I will link down below. My first favorite is the Glamglow Glamstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow. I really like this. It has pearl particles infused in it so it highlights as it’s hydrating. It sinks into the skin quickly, it smells nice and when you put it under foundation you do get a nice subtle glow.

My next beauty favorite is the Nars Satin Lipstick in Tolede. This is a beautiful rosy pink shade with a satin finish. I don’t have a lot of lipsticks in this shade but this one has made it’s a way to the front of my lipstick drawer. It’s nicely pigmented, has a creamy formula and has great staying power. This is one of those lipsticks that works in any season and I definitely recommend it.

And my last beauty favorite is the Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium perfume. I’ve talked about this in the past, this is one of my favorite scents. I have a bottle of it sitting in my perfume shelf right now. It’s a very warm and slightly spicy scent with a vanilla undertone. I think it’s very well balanced and it’s perfect for this time of year. I definitely recommend smelling this if you haven’t and you get the chance.

My next favorite is a food and drink favorite and it’s holiday teas. I haven’t been listening to Christmas music yet, but I have gone in on the festive foods. Here I have the Celestial Seasonings Decaf India Spice Chai (I drink this all year, but more in fall/winter), Bigelow Peppermint Bark (Minty Chocolate Herbal Tea), Celestial Seasonings Gingerbread Spice (I haven’t tried this one yet but I’m excited to) and Twinings Holiday Berry. I think the Peppermint Bark is my favorite right now but they’re all great and Twinings has another seasonal one that I want to pick up.

Moving on I have what I guess you could call a lifestyle favorite and it’s HotHands hand warmers. I always buy a box of these in late November/early December but it got cold quick here so I bought some at the beginning of the month. I always keep a couple in my handbag and I’ve been appreciating myself for it. They stay warm for quite a while and they’re great to have around.

My second to last favorite is a website and it’s FoodTribe. FoodTribe is the sister site of DriveTribe, started by Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May of The Grand Tour, and it’s all about food. There are a bunch of different categories or tribes on a ton of different food related subjects. I’ve been doing a little bit of food writing and recipe posting so I will link my FoodTribe profile down below.

And my last favorite is a music favorite, it’s Take That Odyssey-Greatest Hits Live. This album is from their recent tour, which celebrated their 30th anniversary, and it was recorded at the last show of that tour in Cardiff. This also has a DVD companion. I’ve been listening to this on Spotify since it came out and it’s so good, I also have seen little bits and pieces of the tour on YouTube. I think they did a brilliant job and I love the way they stayed true to their classic songs and changed the arrangement on others. I highly recommend giving this a listen if you haven’t.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites this month let me know and if not I’d love to know what your favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and if you’re celebrating I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving :).

November favorites

Hi everyone,

Today, as it’s getting towards the end of the month. I’m going to be doing my November favorites. I have a fun mix of things this month, so let’s get into it.

Starting with beauty, I have a couple of favorites from my November Sephora Play Box and I’ll link that post below if you haven’t read it. The first is the Amika Silken Up Dry Conditioner. This is a product that I was initially excited about because I had never used a dry conditioner before and I really like this. When I originally talked about this I used it on second day hair, just to see and it made my hair look fresher than it normally would on the second day. I usually go three or four days between hair washing, that’s what my hair likes, and I used this last week when I was sick and it really helped put some life back into my hair. So I highly recommend not only this product but Amika as a brand, they’re great.

Next we have the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. I have a couple different powders that I switch between and this had made itself a spot in the rotation. It’s really silky, weightless and gives you a nice matte finish.

This next favorite I talked a lot about in my Sephora Play unboxing, so I won’t ramble on too much. But it’s the Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain Liquid Lipstick in 40 Pink Tea. I will say that I really like the color, it’s a nudey pink, and it’s really long lasting. I definitely recommend it.

My last Sephora Play favorite is Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue. This is like the perfect scent, it’s a very fresh with citrus, floral notes and some underlying woody hints. If you get the chance to smell it I would say do it. It’s really nice.

My last beauty favorite is something I just bought, but already really like and it’s the e.l.f. Matte Lip Color in Tea Rose. It’s a dusty rose shade and¬†it feels really nice on the lips, not drying at all. And the colored bit on the end pops off and it’s a built in sharpener, which is super handy and I appreciate.

Moving on, my next favorite is Thanksgiving. This year for Thanksgiving I had a cold, which I’m still getting over, so I wasn’t feeling super festive. But it was a really chill day and I did still make apple pie. And I’m really happy with how it came out.

And my last favorite is a music favorite and it’s the new Take That album Odyssey. I’ve been giving my reaction as some songs off the album as they were being released, but now that the album’s out, just wow. It’s incredible. The new songs are fantastic, and the Odyssey version of the classic songs is so well done, very well mixed. I love everything, but if I had to pick a favorite or favorites, I haven’t stopped listening to Everlasting, Spin and How Deep Is Your Love featuring Barry Gibb. How Deep Is Your Love is one of my favorite Bee Gees songs and when I originally heard the Take That cover I wanted them to collaborate with Barry and I’m not disappointed in it whatsoever. It’s a beautiful song. I would one million percent recommend listening to this album.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites this month let me know and if not I’d love to know what your favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you all had a great November :).

October favorites

Hi everyone,

Happy Halloween! Today as it’s the last day of the month I’m going to be doing my October favorites, and yes I’m listening to my Halloween playlist while I do this and I’ll link that down below for anyone that wants to have a listen. I have some fun favorites this month, so let’s get into it.

Starting with beauty, I have one favorite from my October Sephora Play Box. I ended up getting it really late, so I haven’t had a lot of time to test things out. But I have been using one thing, I actually used it this morning, and it’s the Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Quench Hydrating Primer. This primer has hyaluronic acid, marine plant and algae extracts and I can tell a difference with my skin. It feels softer and smoother and I’m really liking it. I will definitely be purchasing a full size version.

My next beauty favorite is some lipsticks and not just any lipsticks, these are Givenchy Le Rouge Liquide lipsticks. I got a sample of three with a Sephora order and I really liked them so I ordered them and I’m looking at which ones to buy next. The three that I have are 202 Rose Flanelle, 309 L’ Interdit and 410 Rouge Suedine. I don’t have a picture wearing 309, but the next time I wear it I’ll post one to my social medias. These lipsticks are a velvet matte, they’re long lasting and the color payoff is great. I definitely recommend these.

My next favorite is baseball related, and speaking of which, I want to congratulate the Boston Red Sox on winning the World Series! They were stellar and it was so much fun to watch. But my baseball related favorite has to do with the Seattle Mariners. Towards the end of the season they always do a fan appreciation night and give away prizes and fun experiences. The Mariners team store also does giveaways and on Twitter they said that if you retweeted a certain tweet of theirs and followed them then you could win a Nelson Cruz jersey. I was already following them and I think contests like that are a bit of fun, so I retweeted and I was one of the five winners! I was really surprised and happy that I decided to do it. I love Nelson Cruz and the jersey is great, so it’s a win win.

My second to last favorites are music favorites. The first is Eric Clapton’s new Christmas album Happy Xmas. I won’t go into it too much because I’m going to be doing a full review of it in December. But what I will say is that I wanted him to do a Christmas album for the longest time and I’m so happy that it finally happened. It’s everything I wanted it to be and more, definitely go and give it a listen.

My second music favorite is Take That’s new song Out Of Our Heads from their forthcoming album Odyssey. This song is really, really fun. It’s different but at the same time it’s very Take That. It’s very bouncy and old school, the work with the horns is fantastic. Like something you would hear in a club in the old days.

And my last favorite is Halloween. I like to do something fun with my makeup and today I tried something that I hadn’t done before and I’m not a makeup artist by any means but I’m really pleased with how it came out. And I always carve a pumpkin, which I did yesterday. I went for the more sinister/scary vibe and I think it turned out great and once I light it up I’ll be posting pictures to my social medias.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same favorites let me know and if not I’d love to know what your favorites were this month.

Until next time, I hope you all had a great October and Happy Halloween! ūüôā

September favorites

Hi everyone,

Happy October! I’m a couple of days late, but today I’m going to be doing my September favorites. I have a pretty good mix of things to talk about, so let’s get into it.

First up we have beauty, I have a couple favorites from my September Sephora Play Box and I will link that below if you haven’t read it. First up we have the Sephora LashCraft Big Volume Mascara in Black. I really like this mascara, it goes on smooth, doesn’t clump and makes my lashes look really full. I would definitely say to check this out if you’re looking for a new mascara.

Next we have the Too Faced Hangover Replenishing Face Primer. This has coconut water and other energizing and replenishing ingredients and it holds up to it’s name. Just a little bit gives you a¬†bright and dewy¬†face and a great canvas for your makeup or to just go about your day.

My last beauty favorite is the Marc Jacobs Beauty Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in (Earth)Quake. This is a dark chocolatey brown eyeliner, which I love because it not only will go with a ton of different looks but I have green eyes and browns really make them pop. The first time I wore this was a day when I was doing dirty work because I wanted to see how it would stand up and I was impressed. It’s long lasting and it doesn’t smudge. It definitely rates high with me.

My next favorite is a food favorite and it’s Pepperidge Farm Pirouettes. If you don’t know what these are, they’re cr√®me filled rolled wafers.¬†I was in the grocery store, saw these and had to get them. I hadn’t had these in at least ten years and I always remember eating them around this time of year with hot chocolate, so I thought why not. And I honestly wanted to see if they were as good as I thought. I bought the French Vanilla and they were so good.

Moving on, I have a TV show favorite and it’s the¬†X Factor UK. Out of all the singing competition shows this one is definitely my favorite. This season they have a new crop of judges, Simon Cowell, Louis Tomlinson, Ayda Williams and Robbie Williams and I’m loving it. Sometimes when a show brings on new people it doesn’t really flow or it takes a while but I think this really works and it was a good choice. If any of you are watching let me know what you think and who you’re loving. There’s a lot of talent this season.

And lastly I have some music favorites. The first is Paul McCartney’s newest album Egypt Station. I talked about this before it came out because I was loving the singles and it did not disappoint. Top to bottom it’s a fantastic album and I can’t choose just one song that’s my favorite.

My second music favorite is Take That Odyssey. Take That is celebrating their 30th anniversary and to celebrate they are going on tour and releasing¬†a new¬†album titled Odyssey . It has some of¬†classic and fan favorite¬†songs, some that have been revamped¬†and a couple new ones. So far they have released the Odyssey version of Pray, which is one of my favorite Take That songs, and it’s absolutely beautiful. Gary Barlow’s vocals are just incredible.

And my last music favorite is Peaches and Diesel by Eric Clapton. This song is from the Slowhand album, which is for sure one of my favorite EC albums. When I heard it it made me stop what I was doing and really listen, you know those songs that just have that effect on you, and I love¬†every minute of it.¬†I would one million percent say to go and listen to it and everything else that I mentioned. They’re all on YouTube and iTunes.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we had any of the same September favorites let me know and if not I’d love to know what your favorites were.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you all had a great September :).

June favorites

Hi everyone,

As today is the last day of June I thought it would be the perfect time to do my June favorites. Honestly, this month went by so fast I can hardly believe that tomorrow is July 1st. Back to my favorites, I’m going to start with beauty. The first beauty favorite is the Balm, Balm Springs blush in Full Swing. I mentioned that I really like the blushes from the Balm in my June Glam Bag post, which I will leave a link to below if you haven’t read it yet. And I think this one is great, it’s a light pinky shade and it’s one of those great summer blushes for sure.

My next beauty favorite is the NYX Whipped Lip and Cheek Souffl√© in Plush. I’m actually wearing this today and I’ve been loving it since I got it. The color is great, the texture is nice and it being whipped makes it light on your lips. And it smells like vanilla frosting and that’s always a plus. I love NYX and I would definitely recommend any of their products.

And my last beauty favorite is a nail polish. It’s from Trust Fund Beauty and it’s in the shade Game Changer. Trust Fund Beauty makes fantastic nail polishes in my opinion. The staying power is great and I really like the formulation. This one in particular is gorgeous, a perfect summer color.¬† If you’re looking for nail polish definitely check out Trust Fund Beauty.

My next favorite is actually an app and it’s WhatsApp. It’s been around for a while, but I didn’t have a use for it until recently and I so appreciate it. It really does make group chats so much easier.

Next I have a television favorite and it’s Pretty Little Liars. PLL just had it’s series finale and I’m so sad that it’s over. Yes, I may have gotten a little emotional when I watched it, but I’d been watching for so long, it was bound to happen.¬†I’m not going to spoil anything if there’s anyone who hasn’t watched the finale yet. But I will say that I was right in my theory and I was okay with how it ended. It made sense to me. But now I have one less show to watch, so if any of you have good show recommendations let¬†me know.

My last couple of favorites are music. The first is the band Take That. I love them always but recently I’ve been loving their latest album Wonderland. There isn’t a song on that album that I don’t like. Their Wonderland tour is brilliant, from the videos I’ve seen and I’m jealous because they aren’t doing an American tour. But for future reference, Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Howard Donald, an American tour would be fantastic and much appreciated. Let me know what songs you guys are loving from the Wonderland album.

Next is a song and it’s Hold On by Michael Buble. This song came up on my Pandora and I’m so happy it did because it’s amazing and I love it. I actually found sheet music for it for the piano and I’m really excited to play it.

And my last favorite is Robbie Williams Heavy Entertainment Show album. From top to bottom it’s a fantastic album. Robbie is also on tour and again, based on the videos I’ve seen it’s a great show. I know it can be hard to put together a setlist when you have so many songs, but he’s done good. If you guys haven’t heard any of the songs or albums that I’ve mentioned look them up because they are all insanely good.

That about wraps it up for this post, if we have any of the same favorites let me know and if not let me know what you loved during June.

Until next time, enjoy your favorites and I hope you had a great June :).
