3 Recent Looks, Pur Cosmetics Festival 2.0 Palette Edition

Hi everyone,

Happy Friday! Today I’m going to be doing one of my favorite types of posts, a Recent Looks. This time it’s all about looks I did with the Pur Cosmetics Festival 2.0 Palette. I really like this palette a lot, I think it’s very versatile and I like every look I’ve created with it.

The first look we have is the first look I did when I got the palette. I thought that one of the best ways to test the palette would be grab the brightest shade and just go for it. I’m really happy with how it came out. So the first thing I did was prime my face using the GlamGlow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow. Then I went in with my Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless foundation in 205, Ivory. Next I applied my Maybelline Fit Me concealer in 5, Ivory under my eyes and a few other places and I set the whole thing with the KVD Lock-It Translucent Setting Powder.

For the rest of my face, the first thing I did was bronze using my Too Faced Extra Toasty bronzer. I then used the Too Faced Daydreamer blush and highlighted using the Maybelline Master Chrome highlighter in Molten Rose Gold.

For my eyes the first thing I did was prime using the Pretty Vulgar Uncaged Eyeshadow primer. Then I went in with Dreamland which is a matte peachy/salmon shade and I put that in the crease. Next I applied Turn It Up, a really vibrant hot pink satin shade and I put that on the outer corner on my eye and blended into the crease a little. For the rest of my eye I applied Euphoric, a cream toned glitter. I put a little bit of Turn It Up and Dreamland under my eye and Euphoric in the inner corner of my eye. I lined my eyes using the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Liner, then applied the Too Faced Damn Girl mascara. Because I did a bold eye I wanted to do a neutral lip, so I lined my lips using the Model Co Illusion Lip Liner and on top of that used the KVD Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Muneca. I set the entire look using the Ciate London Everyday Vacay Coconut Setting Spray.

For the second look I wanted to use the more neutral shades in the palette. The first thing I did was prime my face using the Touch In Sol Glassy Skin Balm. I then applied my Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless foundation in 205, Ivory. Used my Maybelline Fit Me concealer in 5, Ivory and set everything with the Too Faced Peach Perfect Mattifying Setting Powder in Translucent Peach Whisper.

For the rest of my face I first used my Benefit Hoola bronzer. Then I applied the Alamar Cosmetics Isla blush and highlighted with the Maybelline Master Chrome highlighter in Molten Rose Gold.

When it came to my eyes the first thing I did was prime using the Pretty Vulgar Eyeshadow primer. The first shadow I used was Photo Op, a matte light orangey brown and I put that in the crease. Then I used On Set, a matte chocolatey brown and I put that on the outer corner of my eye, a little bit in the crease and blended. For the rest of my eye I applied Pure Bliss, which is a medium toned gold glitter. I put a bit of On Set under my eye and Pure Bliss in the inner corner. I used the KVD Tattoo Liner in Trooperto line my eyes and applied the Urban Decay Perversion mascara. For my lips I took the Beauty Vaulte Lip Liner in Natty Nat and put that all over my lips, this is a fantastic red. And I set the whole look with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.

The third look I did the other day and I just wanted to have fun with the bold glittery shades. The first thing I did was prime using the GlamGlow Glowstarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow. Applied my Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless in 205, Ivory, Maybelline Fit Me concealer in 5, Ivory and set everything with the KVD Lock-It Translucent Setting Powder.

For the rest of my face I started first with the Too Faced Extra Toasty bronzer. Then I applied the Model Co Blush in Peach Bellini and highlighted with the Maybelline Master Chrome highlighter in Molten Rose Gold.

When it came to my eyes the first thing I did was prime using the Pretty Vulgar Uncaged Eyeshadow primer. Then I went in with Insta-Worthy, a matte pinky/brown and I put that in the crease. I then took Electric, a deep blue glitter, and put that on two thirds of my eye. For the rest of my eye I applied Utopia, a light blue glitter with flecks of white and yellow glitter and I blended those together a bit. I then took Insta-Worthy and put that under my eye. I lined my eyes with the KVD Tattoo Liner in Trooper and applied the Benefit They’re Real mascara. For my lips I used the Model Co Illusion Lip Liner and the Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick in Crush. I set the whole look with the Ciate London Everyday Vacay Coconut Setting Spray.

Pur Cosmetics Festival 2.0 Palette First Impression And Review

Hi everyone,

Today I thought it would be fun to give a first impression and full review of a palette I received in my July BoxyCharm box, the Pur Cosmetics Festival 2.0 palette. When I did the BoxyCharm unboxing I included swatches of the palette but didn’t give any real opinion because I wanted to do this post. I’ve currently done two looks with the palette, I’m wearing it today, so I have some opinions.

The packaging is very different from the first festival palette, the first one is oranges, ferris wheels and very much Coachella. This one has silver swirls with a holographic shift and ‘festival 2.0’ is outlined in various colors.

IMG_5860

You get 12 shadows in this palette, 6 are shimmery/glittery shadows, 4 are mattes and there’s 2 satins. You get a nice size mirror as well.  When I first saw this palette I was immediately interested in it because I thought the color story was really versatile. You do have the bright shades and more out there colors, but there’s also some nice neutrals and transition shades. Like I mentioned, I’ve already done two looks with this, they’re vastly different from each other and just looking at it a few more instantly come to mind.

IMG_5861

Now for some swatches, I swatched on my arm and did them row by row as they appear in the palette. The first row starts with Euphoric, cream toned glitter. Then there’s Pure Bliss, a medium toned gold glitter. Next to that is Photo Op and that is a matte in a light orangey brown. The last shadow in the row is Dreamland, a matte peachy salmon shade.

IMG_5862

The second row starts with one of the satins, Turn It Up. This is a vibrant hot pink shade. Next to that is Insta-Worthy, this is a matte pinky brown. Then there’s Vibes, I think this is similar to Insta-Worthy but this a glitter and has more purple in it. The last shadow in this row is On Set which is a matte more chocolatey brown.

IMG_5863

The last row is the most colorful and it starts with Utopia, a lighter blue glitter with flecks of white and yellow glitter. Then there’s Electric, a deep blue glitter, based on the swatch alone, this might be my favorite shadow in the palette. Next to that is Fantasy World, the other satin, and this is magenta-ish in shade and the last shadow in the row is VIP Pass. I called this shadow complex and it really is, it’s a deeper green but it has gray undertones and flecks of silver glitter.

IMG_5864

When I was swatching these shadows what I gathered was that the mattes seemed really smooth and they went on really well. The glitters were really pigmented, caught the light nicely and didn’t seem to have any chunky glitter which can be a pain to deal with. Upon using them I found out that my first impressions were correct. All the shadows are pigmented, the mattes are buildable and blend out really nicely, the glitters are nice on the eyes. The color comes through and you get that pop when they catch the light. This is a palette I would recommend and I do recommend it because it’s just that good. This is a very versatile palette and I think for a 12 pan palette it’s well priced. I did a little research on the first Festival palette to see the difference between the two and I think it’s safe to say I’ll be placing an order for the Festival palette sometime soon.

That about wraps it up for this post, I will be doing a Recent Looks post about this palette so look out for that. If any of you guys have the Festival 2.0 palette I’d love to know what your favorite look is that you’ve done.

Until next time, have fun creating different looks and you can never have too many eyeshadow palettes :).

July 2020 BoxyCharm Unboxing

Hi everyone,

Over the weekend I received my July box from BoxyCharm and I thought that today would be the perfect day to go through it. The theme for this month is Boxy Sunshine and being that we’re in the middle of July and the middle of summer, it’s the perfect theme.

IMG_5842

The first product we have is the Chella Slanted Tip Tweezers. These have stainless steel slanted tips and a no slip coating. I haven’t used these yet, I just did my brows, but I like the way these feel in my hand. They’re good shape, comfortable to hold and it seems like they’ll really get in there and get all the little hairs.

IMG_5855

Next we have the Lavish Quick Color Switch Dry Brush Cleaner. This is one of those spongy brush cleaners that you swirl your brush on and it removes the pigment. I’ve been wanting to try one of these for a while, I actually almost bought one a few weeks ago and I’m glad I didn’t. You can take the sponge out of the container to clean it, so it is reusable, it says to clean just wash with your favorite cleanser and allow to air dry before putting back into container. I will definitely let you guys know what I think of this.

IMG_5856

IMG_5857

Moving on we have the Clean Skin Club Vitamin C Brightening Booster. This was my choice item for this month. This has pineapple, watermelon and green tea extracts and along with brightening your complexion it helps to reduce signs of aging and protects against UV damage. I really like vitamin C serums, my skin really likes them and this one smells really good. The packaging is also really nice, it’s in a very pretty glass bottle.

IMG_5859

The second to last product we have is the Ciate London Everyday Vacay Coconut Setting Spray. This is infused with fresh coconut extract, has micro pearls to give you glowing and dewy finish and comes out in a really fine mist. I’ve been using this since I got it and I absolutely love it, it’s the perfect summertime setting spray. The coconut makes me think of the beach, tanning and all the things you associate with the season. This dries down pretty fast which I appreciate, doesn’t make you feel tacky or sticky, locks in your makeup and the glow you get is really nice. The packaging of the whole Everyday Vacay collection is super pretty and this is one of those products that you would want to put in the front of your makeup collection so it could be seen. I highly recommend this if you’re looking for a good setting spray.

IMG_5858

And the last product we have is the Pur Cosmetics Festival 2.0 Eyeshadow Palette. When spoilers for this months box were coming out I saw this palette and instantly wanted it.

IMG_5860

With this palette you get 12 shadows, 6 are shimmery/glittery shadows, there’s 4 mattes and 2 satins. You do get a good size mirror with this palette as well. I’m going to be doing a first impressions post about this palette as I’ve already used it, so I won’t be giving away too much of my opinion on it now.

IMG_5861

Starting with the top row, the first shadow we have is Euphoric and this is a cream glitter. Next to that is Pure Bliss, a more golden glitter. Then there’s Photo Op, a matte light almost orangey brown and the last shadow in the row is Dreamland and that is a matte salmony/peach shade.

IMG_5862

Starting the second row we have Turn It Up which is a bright hot pink in a satin finish. Next to that is Insta-Worthy, a matte pinky/brown. Then here’s Vibes, a glittery shade that is similar to Insta-Worthy in color but with more purple in the glitter and the last shadow in the row is On Set, a matte deep chocolatey brown.

IMG_5863

The last row starts with Utopia, a super pretty light blue glittery shadow with white and yellow glitters in it. Next to that is Electric, a very nice deep blue glitter, this is one of my favorite shadows in the palette. Then there’s Fantasy World, which is a pinky purple, magenta-ish if you will, in a satin finish. And the last shadow in the row is VIP Pass, this is a very complex shadow. It’s a deep green but you can see it has some gray in it and some silver glitters.

IMG_5864

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys got any of the same products in your July BoxyCharm boxes let me know and if not I’d love to know what you did get.

Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get in my August box :).
