Today I have one of my favorite posts to do, a makeup looks post! This one is going to focus on the look I did recently for St. Patrick’s Day. I always like to do fun and festive looks and for holidays like St. Patrick’s Day I feel like there’s so many possibilities, which I love, and I really like the way this look turned out.
For the rest of my face I first bronzed using the Nars bronzer in Laguna, then I applied my Too Faced blush in Makeup & Be Merry and Too Faced highlighter in Angel Kisses.
The first thing I did for my eyes was prime and for that I used the Pretty Vulgar Uncaged Eyeshadow Primer. So for this look I wanted to use multiple greens, so in total I used four different eyeshadow palettes. The first one I went into is the Mini Pro Pigment Palette Vol 2 from the ABH/Norvina Collection and from that I used the green that’s in the middle of the top row, A2, and that is a matte lime green. I took that and put it in the crease. Then I went into the Ace Beaute Nostalgia Palette and I used Theme Park which is a really pretty matte emerald-ish green and I put that in the crease as well and brought it down a little bit to the outer corner of the eye. For the outer corner specifically I wanted a dark shadow that was still green, so I went into one of the e.l.f. Bite Size Eyeshadow Palettes, Hot Jalapeno, and used the dark green. It’s like a gray green and I packed that on the outer corner and brought it in just a little bit. For the rest of my eye I knew I wanted a sparkly gold, but I didn’t just want any gold, so I looked through different palettes and ended up going with the Too Faced Christmas Cookie House Party Palette and the shade Kiss & Caramel. This is a really pretty medium gold and it’s super buildable. I then took Theme Park and the gray green from Hot Jalapeno and blended those under my eye and brought them about halfway, then used Kiss & Caramel for the other half and in the inner corner of my eye. I used the KVD Tattoo Liner in Trooper to line my eyes and topped it off with the Tarte Maneater Mascara. I wanted a neutral/brown lip to offset all the color on my eyes, so I first lined my lips using the Beauty Vaulte Lip Liner in Kozy Kira then used the Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick in Venus and I set the whole look with the Maven Beauty Rose Water Setting Spray.
That about wraps it up for this post, if you did a fun makeup look for St. Patrick’s Day I’d love to see what you did.
Until next time, have fun creating different looks and you can never have too many green eyeshadows :).
Today I have a fun post, that I really like doing. Last March I did a series of festive looks leading up to St. Patrick’s Day, and I thought it would be fun to do the same with Valentine’s Day. I had a lot of fun doing these, so I think this is a trend I’ll be continuing.
For the second look I wanted to play with color and shimmer. The first thing I did was prime my face using the Touch In Sol Pretty Filter Glassy Skin Balm. I then applied my Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 205, Ivory, Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 5, Ivory and I set everything with the Ofra Pressed Banana Powder.
For my eyes, the first thing I did was prime, using the Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Primer. I then went into the ABH/Norvina Mini Vol 1 Palette and took the lighter of the purples, first shadow third row, and put that lightly in the crease. I then took the darker purple next to it and packed that into the inner corner and outer corner of my lid, leaving space in the middle. For a little bit of shimmer, I took the pinky/gold shadow, middle of the second row, and packed the on the middle of my lid. I lined my eyes using the KVD Tattoo Liner in Trooper and topped off the eyes using the Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara. For my lips I applied the Trestique Mini Lip Glaze in Paris Pink. And I set the whole look using the Ciate London Everyday Vacay Coconut Setting Spray.
For the third look I wanted to play with the pink/red combination. The first thing I did for this look was prime my face using the GlamGlow GlowStarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow. Then I applied my Covergirl + Olay Simply Ageless Foundation in 205, Ivory, Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 5, Ivory and set it with the Ofra Pressed Banana Powder.
For my eyes I primed them using the Pretty Vulgar Uncaged Eyeshadow Primer. I then went into the ABH/Norvina Mini Vol 3 Palette. I first used the medium red/pink, first shadow second row, and put that lightly in the crease. I then took the dark red shadow, first shadow third row, and packed that on the outer corner of the eye. Next to that I put the first shadow I used in the middle of the lid and on the inner corner I put the light, shimmery pink, first shadow first row. I lined my eyes using the KVD Tattoo Liner in Trooper and topped it off using the Tarte Maneater Mascara. For my lips, the first thing I did was line them using the Model Co Lip Enhancer Nude Lip Liner and on top of that used the KVD Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Muneca. And I set the whole look using the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.
For the fourth, and second to last look, I wanted to do something simple but cute. The first thing I did was prime my face using the Touch In Sol Pretty Filter Glassy Skin Balm. Then I applied my Covergirl + Olay Simply Agless Foundation in 205, Ivory and Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 5, Ivory and set everything with the Too Faced Peach Perfect Mattifying Setting Powder in Translucent Peach Whisper.
For the rest of my face I used the Ofra Mini Mix Face Palette in Good To Go. I used the bronzer in Current, blush in Intentions and highlighter in All of the Lights.
For my eyes, the first thing I did was prime using the Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Eyeshadow Primer. Then I went into the Ace Beaute Nostalgia Palette and put Flower in the crease, then brought it lightly all over the eye. I lined my eyes using the KVD Tattoo Liner in Trooper and topped it off with the Sephora Collection LashCraft Mascara. For my lips I first lined them using the Sephora Collection Lip Liner To Go in 09 Fuchsia, then filled them in using the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Let’s Go Crazy. I set the whole look with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.
For the last look, my Valentine’s Day look, I wanted something bright, fun and sparkly. The first thing I did was prime my face using the GlamGlow GlowStarter Mega Illuminating Moisturizer in Nude Glow. Then I applied my Simply Ageless Foundation in 205, Ivory, Maybelline Fit Me Concealer in 5, Ivory and set everything with the Ofra Pressed Banana Powder.
For the rest of my face, I first bronzed using the Nars Bronzer in Laguna. I then applied the Ofra Intentions blush and All of the Lights highlighter.
For my eyes, the first thing I did was prime using the Pretty Vulgar Uncaged Eyeshadow Primer. Then I went into the Ace Beaute Nostalgia Palette and took a little bit of the bright pink shadow, Picnic, and put that in the crease. I then took the Heat, the sparkly, bright shadow, and put that all over my lid. I lined my eyes using the KVD Tattoo Liner in Trooper and I topped it off with the Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara. For my lips I took the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Let’s Go Crazy and lightly dabbed it all over my lips and on top of that put a little bit of the Sephora Collection #LIPSTORIES Lipstick in 69, Werk It. And I set the whole look with the Ciate London Everyday Vacay Coconut Setting Spray.
That about wraps it up for this post, I do like doing these types of posts, so look out for more in the future. If you did a themed look for Valentine’s Day, I’d love to know what you did.
Until next time, have fun creating looks and you can never have too many pink/red eyeshadows :).
Today I thought it would be fun to share with you guys what I got for Christmas. I do want to say that I’m in no way bragging, I like to watch and read these types of posts, and I find it fun to write them as well. So this year I didn’t have a real list of what I wanted, so I was happily surprised by a few of these gifts.
The first thing we have is what was in my stocking. Besides a bunch of my favorite candy, there were three other things. The first isn’t pictured because I already put it in my handbag, I have a little kit in my handbag that has all the essentials in it, and it was a mini deodorant. The nex thing was a Jergens Ultra Healing lotion, this has Vitamins C, E and B5 and moisturizes for 48 hours. This is one of my favorite lotions for winter, and I definitely recommend checking it out if you have dry skin or get drier skin during the winter months. And the last thing in my stocking was a Duracell 500 Lumen LED flashlight. This flashlight is stupidly bright, it has four different settings and it’s a mini so you get a great flashlight that fits in your hand and would definitely fit in your handbag if you wanted a handbag flashlight.
So switching to gifts and starting with beauty, I have a couple of makeup related items. The first is the Too Faced Enchanted Beauty Unbearably Glam Collection. I think that the Too Faced holiday collection is great this year, everything is really pretty, but the Unbearably Glam had the colors that interested me the most. I’m not going to show too much of this because I’m going to do a whole post about it. But I will say that I really like the packaging, it’s got a nice holographic look to it and I like all the detail with the bear. This is a three piece set, so you get an eyeshadow palette, a face palette that has a blush and highlight and a mascara. I used this palette today and so far I’m impressed.
The second beauty related item I didn’t take a picture of because it wasn’t in the stack with the other gifts. I think it’s in my wallet though. But it’s a Sephora gift card. There was a couple of holiday things I wanted from Sephora, but they sold out super quick, so I was given a gift card and with my birthday coming up, I’ll be putting it to good use.
Moving on, I have a couple of fashion related items. The first is a USC shirt. I really like the style of this, I don’t have any long sleeved USC gear and it fits great.
Next we have a green/blue cropped long sleeved shirt. This has lace detail, cute buttons and it came knotted at the bottom. This is like a light sweater, it’s very soft and it’s super cute on. I tried all of these items on, but I haven’t worn any of them yet.
The second to last clothing item we have is a dark gray cropped Beatles sweatshirt. This says ‘The Beatles’ on the hood in multiple colors, as the Abbey Road album cover on the front with ‘The Beatles’ written below. This is super soft and keeps me nice and warm.
The last clothing item we have is a light pink cropped sweater. This is crocheted/knitted so it has a ton of detail and it has three big buttons down the front. This is adorable on and is actually pretty warm.
Next we have some practical things. The first is a 2021 Erin Condren planner. The Erin Condren Life Planner has been an absolute game changer for me and I love it. The pattern that I went for this time is the zodiac and it’s customizable, so I went with Capricorn, because I am a Capricorn and my name is on it. It also came with a to do list pad and some gift tags.
The second practical thing I got is a calendar. I have a couple of different calendars that I use for different things, but this is my main calendar. I always like a theme for calendars, so I went with a jet theme and there’s so super cool pictures. I also like that this calendar has a ‘on this day in military history’ fact for every day of the month. This is the first time I’ve seen that on a calendar and I love military history, so it’s a win-win.
I have two gifts that haven’t come yet, but I’m so excited about both of them. The first is actually a practical thing and it’s a pair of blue light glasses. I’ve wanted a good pair forever and recently I’ve been spending more time on my computer, so these will definitely be great to have. And the other is music related. It’s a Beatles songbook for ukulele. It has 100 songs, lyrics, chord symbols and chord diagrams. I’m always looking for ukulele sheet music for Beatles songs and online it can be hit and miss, so I can’t wait to have a legit book.
The last thing I got for Christmas is also music related and it’s a ukulele. But not just any ukulele, this is an Epiphone Les Paul Acoustic-Electric Concert Ukulele in Vintage Sunburst. I pretty much haven’t been able to stop staring at this since I got it, it’s everything I thought it would be and more. I tuned it yesterday and have played around with it a little bit and it has such an incredible tone. I do want to get an amp to plug it into, so I can use it acoustically and electrically. I also want to get a strap for it, so if you guys have any recommendations for good ukulele straps let me know.
That about wraps it up for this post, I’d love to know what you guys got for Christmas.
Until next time, enjoy your gifts and I hope you all had a great Christmas :).
Welcome to Blogmas Day Twelve! I can’t believe it’s already Day Twelve, it has absolutely flown by. Normally for the last post of Blogmas I show the festive nails I’ve done during December, but this year I didn’t really do super festive nails. I had them sparkly red for the first couple weeks and now they’re matte white. So what I’m going to do for this post is show you my go to nail polishes for Christmas.
I have two dark green polishes that I like to use because they give Christmas tree vibes. The first is the Dermelect Me polish. This is a peptide infused polish that is dbp, toluene and formaldehyde free. This the darker of the two polishes.
The second green is Pure Ice 303 – Free Spirit. This is a medium green, but if you want it to be darker it builds nicely. I also like to use this for St. Patrick’s Day nails.
Next I have a couple of red polishes that the holidays wouldn’t be complete without. The first is Sinful Colors 852 – GoGo Girl. This is one of those polishes that I’ve repurchased many times over the years and it’s a classic red that I think everyone should have in their polish collection.
The other red is a sparkly polish, and it’s Pure Ice 1026 – Hit The Floor. This is a darker red, but I really like it and it gives a great sparkle to any look.
Moving on, I have a couple of silver polishes that I really like. Silver isn’t a color of polish that I wear a lot, but I do like it. The first one is the p2 Techno Chrome polish in 010 Steel Drama. I always wear this with a high shine top coat, but on it’s own it does have a great shine and it lives up to it’s chrome title.
The second silver polish is a more recent purchase, but I’ve gotten a lot of use out of it so far. It’s the Sinful Colors 923 – Queen Of Beauty. This is the perfect silver sparkle, it’s great on it’s own but it also makes a fantastic topper for any other polish.
Second to last we have a gold polish, but it’s a really interesting gold. It’s Kokie Cosmetics NP45 – Euphoria. This has some other colors in it, so when it shifts it can come across as blue/green toned. It’s very pretty.
And the last polish we have is a blue polish and it’s Salon Perfect 207 – Blue Ribbon. This is another polish I’ve repurchased many times over the years and it makes great looks for Christmas, but it’s also really nice for summer. A solid polish if you ask me.
That about wraps it up for this post, if you have a go to polish or polishes for Christmas time let me know and I’d love to know what festive nails you did this year.
Until next time, thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed Blogmas, and I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas :).
Welcome to Blogmas Day Eleven! Today I’m going to be showing you 3 festive looks that I’ve done during December. I already have my Christmas Day Makeup figured out, but if you don’t, hopefully this post will give you a little inspiration.
For the rest of my face I first bronzed and to do that I used the Too Faced Extra Toasty bronzer. I then went into the e.l.f. Bite Size Face Duo in Lychee for my blush and highlighter. This blush is a nice light/medium pink and it’s nicely buildable. And the highlighter is a nice gold with a little bit of rosiness.
For the second look I wanted to do something fun and a little bit over the top, so I went with green. For my face I used the same products as the first look with the exception of the powder. For this look I used the Ofra Cosmetics Banana Powder.
For the rest of my face I started with bronzer and for that I used the Benefit Hoola bronzer. For my blush and highlighter I used the e.l.f. Bite Size Face Duo palette in Lychee.
For my eyes the first thing I did was prime and for that I used the Pretty Vulgar Uncaged Eyeshadow Primer. Then I went into the e.l.f. Haute Chocolate Eyes Sugar Cookie palette and I put the nude shadow all over my lids. Then I put a light brown shadow in the crease, just to have a background shade and a little bit of depth. Then I applied the shimmery emerald green all over my lid. It’s such a pretty color and translates really well from pan to eye. To mix it up a little I went into the Too Faced Christmas Cookie House Party palette and from that took Nooks & Cranberries, a matte red shade, and put that under the entirety of my eye and then put the white shimmery shade form the e.l.f. palette in the inner corner of my eye. To line my eyes I used the Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Intense Black and topped off the eyes with the Tarte Maneater Mascara. For my lips I applied the MAC Matte Lipstick in 612, Russian Red. And I set the entire look with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.
And for the third look I wanted to do something that mixed a couple of colors so I went with a red and gold look. For my face, I used the same products that I used in the first look.
For the rest of my face I applied the Too Faced Extra Toasty Bronzer, Too Faced Daydreamer Blush and e.l.f. highlighter in Lychee.
For my eyes I first primed using the Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Eye Shadow Primer. Then I went into the Too Faced Christmas Cookie House Party palette and took the nude shade, Cream Filling, and put it all over my eye. I then went into Nooks & Cranberries and put it in the crease lightly, then I packed it on the outer corner and the inner corner of my eye. In the middle I left a space and put Icing On Top, it’s a very pretty gold. To line my eyes I used the Marc Jacobs Highliner in Blacquer and I topped it off with the Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara. I applied the YSL Tatouage Couture in 5 Rosewood Gang on my lips and set the whole look with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.
That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys have done any festive looks this season I’d love to know what they are.
Until next time, have fun creating festive looks and I hope you’re enjoying Blogmas :).
Welcome to Blogmas Day Seven! Today I’m going to be showing you my Christmas Day makeup. Christmas Day for me is a very chill day, no real dressing up, just leggings and comfy clothes but I do like to do a fun makeup look. I did go back and forth between a few different look ideas, and I’m happy with the one I chose.
Welcome to Blogmas Day Six! Before we get into it I want to say that because I didn’t post on Friday one day this week I will be double posting, so one day there will be two posts and once that happens we’ll be all caught up. So, for today’s post I’m going to be unboxing the December BoxyCharm box. The theme this month is Bubbles and Glitz, which is perfect for the end of the year.
The first product we have is the Artist Couture Caliente palette. This is an eight pan palette with five mattes, two metallics and one multidimensional high pearl shade.
For the size of this palette, it has a nice mirror and the pans are a good size.
I normally use a palette before talking about it, but I used this yesterday and so far I do really like it. Of the shades that I used, I found that the mattes were really smooth and blended out nicely, along with being very pigmented, and the high pearl shade is not only gorgeous, but very shimmery.
I swatched these as they appear in the palette. The first shade we have is Mangorita, a matte yellow shadow. Yellows can sometimes be hard to formulate, but this one wasn’t too patchy when I swatched it, so I’m interested to see how it will perform on the eye. Next to that is Vibras, a vibrant matte, red/orange. Then there’s Fuego, a matte, hot pink shade. And the last shadow in the row is Cultura, an orangey/gold metallic.
The second row starts with Sensual, a super pigmented metallic orange. The color payoff you get from this is next level. Next to that is Mamacita, the pearl shade. This is a light peachy/orange, and it’s so, so pretty. The way it looks on the arm is how it looks on the eye like ten. It’s an incredible shadow. Then there’s Brillo, a matte magenta. It’s very similar to Fuego, but deeper and on the eye the two of them together are great. And the last shadow in the row is Rumba, a matte brown with orange undertones. This one didn’t swatch the best, but like the yellow shade, I’m interested to see how this performs on the eye.
The next product we have is the Eloise Beauty Get Lit Metallic Foiled Liquid Eyeshadow in Pure Gold. This is a long wearing, metallic foiled shadow with a blend of metallic and glitter reflects. This looks pretty in the bottle, but when I swatched it I was seriously impressed, not only is it the perfect gold tone, but it’s perfectly shimmery. This would be the perfect shadow for a New Years Eve look. On the top of the box, inside it has a code so if you use code BOXYCHARM on the Eloise Beauty website you get 20% off everything.
Moving on we have the Tarte Maneater Mascara in Black. This has vitamin E, carnauba wax and jojoba, which are all great for lashes. This mascara is supposed to give you dramatic volume, length and curl without flaking or clumping.
It has one of the spiky plastic brushes, but this one says it’s custom and has over 500 bristles to bring out every lash. I don’t typically like this style of brush as much, but I’m intrigued by this one and I’ve heard great things about this mascara so I’m excited to try it.
The second to last product we have is the Ofra Cosmetics Pressed Banana Brightening and Setting Powder. This is a multi use powder that you can use to set foundation and concealer, matte eyeshadow, conceal under eye circles and highlight the under eye, brow bone, bridge of the nose, middle of the forehead and the chin.
You get a nice sized mirror with this powder as well.
As it’s banana powder, it does have a light banana scent and it reminds me of the banana Laffy Taffy.
And the last product we have is a MAC matte lipstick in the shade 612, Russian Red. I did a red lipstick post the other day and I mentioned how no one does a red lipstick like MAC. This is a super pigmented, deeper red, but it’s not too deep. It’s really nice and I’m excited to add it to my collection.
That about wraps it up for this post, if you got any of the same products in your December BoxyCharm box let me know and if not I’d love to know what you did get.
Until next time, enjoy your products and I can’t wait to see what I get in my January box :).
Welcome to Blogmas Day Four! Today I have something a little bit different, a few weeks ago my friends and I were having a lively debate about Christmas movies (Home Alone 3) and there was a definite divide between the two sides. One thing that was agreed upon when I brought it up, at least by the people who have seen it, is that White Christmas is one of the best Christmas movies, so I thought I would talk about why I think it’s great.
White Christmas was released in 1954 and stars Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen. This was actually a big deal when it came out because it was the first film to be released in VistaVision. I think one of the things that immediately drew me in the first time I saw this movie, I think I was about 10 years old, was that it starts in 1944 during the war because, as a self proclaimed history nerd, that’s one of my favorite time periods. And from there Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye team up and start taking over the entertainment world. I’ve always thought that Bing and Danny were the perfect pair for this movie, they balance each other very well.
When they meet Rosemary Clooney and Vera Ellen, they, after some trials and tribulations, basically start down the road of becoming a double act and end up in Vermont together. Where there’s more trials and tribulations, including romance and what always comes with romance in movies, confusion, but it all ends well as an incredible show is put on, a beloved General is surprised and couples are formed (I’m team Rosemary and Bing for favorite couple, but I want to know what you think).
At the core of this movie is the music, all of the music is incredible. There isn’t one song that I don’t like or I think doesn’t belong in the movie, and yes, I do have all the songs pretty much memorized. The dancing is also fantastic and it really helps to bring the musical scenes together.
The costuming is on another level for me, the costumes for the Sisters number with the blue dresses and the fans will always be iconic but for me, the ultimate costumes are the red dresses at the very end when they sing White Christmas. To this day I still want one of those dresses because they are incredible and I feel like everyone needs to own one.
I found out that White Christmas is on Netflix, so I will be forcing all of my friends to watch it during Discord movie night, because everyone needs to experience the magic and wonder that is White Christmas.
That about wraps it up for this post, I’d love to know what your thoughts are on White Christmas and I’d also love to know what your favorite Christmas movie is.
Until next time, have fun watching Christmas movies and I hope you’re enjoying Blogmas :).
Welcome to Blogmas Day Three! As one of the essentials for the holiday season is red lipstick, I thought it would be fun to show you my current collection of red liners and lipsticks.
Starting with liners, the one red liner I have is the Beauty Vaulte liner in Natty Nat. As far as tone, this is a pretty true and classic red that goes with a lot of the lipsticks in my collection, but I also really like it as and all over lip color.
Going into lipsticks, the first one we have is the NYX Shout Loud Satin Lipstick in Red Haute. This is a nice warm red. These lipsticks are nicely pigmented and are infused with mango and shea butter so you get 4 hours of hydration.
Moving on, the next lipstick we have is the e.l.f. Moisturizing Lipstick in Red Carpet. This is a lipstick that I’ve repurchased many times over the years. This is really rich and creamy when you put it on and the color is very vibrant. e.l.f. lipsticks have a great formula and I always recommend them if someone is looking for a good drugstore lipstick.
Next up we have the Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Maple. Bite Beauty did discontinue their Amuse Bouche lipsticks, I believe it was to reformulate and from what I understand they’re supposed to be relaunching sometime soon. I have quite a few of the Amuse Bouche lipsticks and I really like the formulation and pigmentation of them all. This one is a darker red, ever so slightly than the SC Cabin Fever, and it’s so pretty.
The last of the bullet lipsticks is the MAC Matte Lipstick in 640, Red Rock. This is the first MAC lipstick I’ve had and when I was shopping for it there was no question in my mind that I had to buy a red because MAC does red so well. This shade in particular is a really classic, true red and it’s just so good in every way.
The second to last lipstick we have is the YSL Tatouage Couture Matte Lip Stain in 5-Rosewood Gang. This is a lip stain so it’s a little bit lighter and I do like to layer it, but it stands up well to that and doesn’t get gloppy. Color wise this looks red on me, but it does have some pink/purple undertones. I’m actually running low and I need to pick up another one.
And the last lipstick we have is the Clarins Velvet Lip Perfector in 03 Velvet Red. This is a liquid lipstick in a matte finish with shea butter that is super pigmented. This lipstick feels very light on the lips, which I appreciate and I do like the cushion applicator.
That about wraps it up for this post, if you have any of the same lipsticks let me know which and if not I’d love to know what your favorite red lipstick is for the holidays :).
Welcome to Day One of the Twelve Days of Blogmas! This is one of my favorite things, as stressful as it can be, and I’m happy it’s that time of year once again.
This time we’re kicking off Blogmas 2020 with a review of something from the e.l.f. 2020 Holiday Collection, the Haute Chocolate Eyes Sugar Cookie palette. I have a couple of the Haute Chocolate Eyes palettes, so I was excited to see a new one.
This is a 15 pan palette with a mix of mattes, satins and shimmers and it’s $10.00.
My first impression of this palette just by looking at it is that it has some really pretty shimmers and it seems like a versatile palette.
I swatched this in rows of five, as it shows in the palette. The first shadow we have is light nude, next to that is a really pretty gold shimmer. It’s a more yellow gold and I like it a lot, it’s going to be a good shade for a lot of looks. Then there’s a sparkly emerald green, I’ve been looking through the green shadows that I have to get some inspiration for festive looks and I think this is going to be a great green for those looks. Next to that is a matte rusty/brown shade. And the last shade in the row is a matte light-ish orange, I don’t wear a whole lot of straight up orange shadow during December, but with this palette, I can see a few looks already that it would still be festive.
The second row starts with a shimmer and it’s kind of a hard shade to describe. It’s almost a rose gold, but it’s deeper. It’s super pretty though. Next to that is a matte light brown shadow, this is going to be perfect for in the crease and to create depth. Then there’s another matte brown, but this one is slightly darker. Next to that is a matte orange, this one is a darker orange than the other and it really pops. It was slightly patchy when I swatched it, but I’m interested to see how it works on the eye. And the last shade in the row is a really glittery shadow. This is more of a neutral/light brown and this is one that you could use as a shadow on it’s own or as a topper.
The last row starts with a shimmery brown shadow that is really nice and would be great for a number of looks. Next to that is a gorgeous orangey/pink that is not only super pretty, but really glittery. This reminds me a lot of another shadow that I really like, so I’m excited to wear this one. Then there’s a matte chocolatey brown. Next to that is a burgundy shimmer. I have seen this color in so many palette this year, it’s been an incredibly popular. And the last shadow in the row is a very glittery white. This is a shadow that I personally would use as a topper or a highlight in the inner corner/on the brow bone. It’s so pretty and not a pure white, it has a mix of blue and purple glitters mixed in with it so it really has that winter/snow feel. I think that with the exception of one shade, these are all really pigmented and creamy. The e.l.f. eyeshadow formula is really nice.
That about wraps it up for this post, if any of you guys have this palette let me know what you think of it and if you’ve purchased anything from the e.l.f. 2020 Holiday Collection I’d love to know what you got.
Until next time, have fun creating different looks and welcome to Blogmas :).
