Blogmas Day 4: Holiday drinks

Hi everyone,

Welcome to Blogmas Day 4! Today I’m going to share some fun and delicious holiday drinks. These ones are all non-alcoholic, but I have a holiday cocktail post going up later in the month. You’re sure to be a hit at any party, or night in with these four drinks.

The first is a delicious Eggnog Hot Chocolate because it’s not the holidays without hot chocolate of some sort.

What you need:

  • 3 cups of eggnog
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces of chopped white chocolate
  • Whipped cream, for topping
  • Ground nutmeg, to sprinkle on whipped cream, both are optional

What you do:

  • Add the eggnog, milk, vanilla and chopped white chocolate to a medium sized saucepan and stir together
  • Cook mixture over medium heat and stir occasionally until the white chocolate has melted
  • Bring to a simmer and give it a stir to ensure your white chocolate is completely melted and incorporated
  • Remove the hot chocolate from the heat, top with whipped cream and nutmeg
  • Serve and enjoy!

Next up we have a spin on a classic, Christmas Sherbet Punch.

What you need:

  • 2 liters of Hawaiian Punch
  • 2 liters of Sprite, or your favorite lemon lime soda
  • 1 carton of raspberry sherbet
  • 46 fluid ounces of pineapple juice, 1 can

What you do:

*This recipe has a step that I hadn’t thought of before, but is actually a great idea

  • The night before serving pour Hawaiian Punch into two ice cube trays and put in the freezer. Ice cubes are used in punch anyway, you may as well make it so they don’t water it down
  • In a large punch bowl add the Sprite, pineapple juice and remaining Hawaiian Punch
  • Stir, then add the raspberry sherbet and Hawaiian Punch ice cubes
  • Give a final stir then serve and enjoy!

Second to last we have Grinch Punch. The Grinch is a favorite for many people and this is a great way to tie that in to any party.

What you need:

  • Two 13 ounce packets of unsweetened lemon lime Kool-Aid
  • 2 cups of sugar
  • 12 ounces of pineapple juice, 1 can
  • 12 ounces of thawed frozen lemonade concentrate, 1 can
  • 1/2 a liter of Sprite
  • Ice
  • Red sanding sugar

What you do:

  • Pour two quarts of water into a one gallon pitcher of water and add the Kool-Aid and sugar. Stir until the sugar has dissolved
  • Add the pineapple juice and lemonade and stir
  • For extra festive flair dip the tops of the glasses in water and dip into the red sanding sugar. It gives it a great look
  • Right before serving add the Sprite and the ice
  • Serve and enjoy!

And lastly we have Spiced Caramel Apple Cider.

What you need:

  • 4 cups of apple cider
  • 1/4 cup of caramel topping
  • 1 teaspoon of apple pie spice
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream

What you do:

  • In a medium sized saucepan add the apple cider, apple pie spice and caramel topping
  • Bring that to a simmer and add in the vanilla extract
  • Take off heat and pour into mugs
  • Top with whipped cream, caramel topping and a sprinkle of apple pie spice
  • Serve and enjoy!

That about wraps it up for this post, if you guys make any of these tweet me a picture or tag me on Instagram. And I’d love to know what drinks you guys love during the holidays.

Until next time, have fun at your holiday parties and enjoy your drinks :).
