Racing in Colorado

Hi everyone,

This weeks race took us to Denver, Colorado for the Mopar Mile High NHRA Nationals and the start of the Western Swing and what an exciting race it was.

Starting with Top Fuel, the ladder looked like this; #1 Leah Pritchett (3.73) vs #16 Troy Coughlin Jr (5.69), #2 Doug Kalitta (3.76) vs #15 Greg Carillo (5.24), #3 Steve Torrence (3.77) vs #14 Rob Passey (4.95), #4 Tony Schumacher (3.77) vs #13 Steve Chrisman (4.81), #5 Shawn Langdon (3.78) vs #12 Terry Haddock (4.22), #6 Brittany Force (3.78) vs #11 Terry McMillen (4.02), #7 Antron Brown (3.79) vs #10 Scott Palmer (3.90) and #8 Clay Millican (3.79) vs #9 Bob Vandergriff (3.85). The winners and who they would face in the second round were Leah Pritchett (3.79) and Clay Millican (3.79), Tony Schumacher (3.83) and Terry Haddock (4.17), Doug Kalitta (3.82) and Antron Brown (3.83) and Steve Torrence (3.81) and Brittany Force (3.91). The semifinals were Leah Pritchett (3.81) vs Tony Schumacher (3.80) and Antron Brown (3.79) vs Brittany Force (3.80). The finals featured Leah Pritchett (3.79) and the Papa John’s team and Antron Brown (3.79) and the Matco Tools team. With the winner being Antron Brown (3.79). This is Antron’s third win of the season.

Next we have Funny Car, where the ladder looked like this; #1 Courtney Force (3.88) vs #16 Jim Campbell (5.31), #2 John Force (3.89) vs #15 Matt Hagan (4.94), #3 Robert Hight (3.90) vs #14 Todd Simpson (4.34), #4 Jonnie Lindberg (3.94) vs #13 Jeff Diehl (4.25), #5 Ron Capps (3.96) vs #12 Tommy Johnson Jr (4.05), #6 Jack Beckman (3.97) vs #11 Alexis DeJoria (4.01), #7 Cruz Pedregon (3.98) vs #10 Del Worsham (3.99) and #8 JR Todd (3.98) vs #9 Tim Wilkerson (3.98). The winners and who they would face in the second round were Jim Campbell (4.26) and JR Todd (4.07), Jonnie Lindberg (4.04) and Tommy Johnson Jr (4.04), Matt Hagan (4.10) and Cruz Pedregon (4.46) and Robert Hight (13.65) and Jack Beckman (4.02). The semifinals were Jim Campbell (4.08) vs Tommy Johnson Jr (4.05) and Cruz Pedregon (4.05) vs Robert Hight (4.14). The finals featured Tommy Johnson Jr (3.98) and the Make-A-Wish team and Robert Hight (4.06) and the AAA team. With the winner being Robert Hight (3.99). This is Robert’s first win of the season.

Moving on we have Pro Stock, where with 14 cars the ladder looked like this; #1 Drew Skillman (6.92) vs #14 Richie Stevens (7.07), #2 Erica Enders (6.93) vs #13 Alan Prusiensky (7.02), #3 Vincent Nobile (6.93) vs #12 Deric Kramer (7.01), #4 Greg Anderson (6.94) vs #11 Jeg Coughlin (6.98), #5 Jason Line (6.95) vs #10 Tanner Gray (6.97), #6 Allen Johnson (6.95) vs #9 Bo Butner (6.97) and #7 Matt Hartford (6.96) vs #8 Chris McGaha (6.97). The winners and who they would face in the second round were Drew Skillman (6.96), Greg Anderson (6.97) and Jason Line (6.96), Erica Enders (6.98) and Chris McGaha (7.01) and Vincent Nobile (6.97) and Bo Butner (6.99). The semifinals were Drew Skillman (6.92) vs Jason Line (6.94) and Erica Enders (6.97) vs Bo Butner (6.94). The finals featured Drew Skillman (6.95) and the Ray Skillman Chevrolet team and Bo Butner (6.94) and the Jim Butner Auto team. With the winner being Drew Skillman (6.91). This is Drew’s second win of the season.

And finally we have Pro Stock Motorcycle, where the ladder looked like this; #1 Eddie Krawiec (7.17) vs #16 David Hope (7.37), #2 Hector Arana Jr (7.17) vs #15 Steve Johnson (7.36), #3 Matt Smith (7.18) vs #14 Angie Smith (7.30), #4 LE Tonglet (7.18) vs #13 Melissa Surber (7.28), #5 Scotty Pollacheck (7.18) vs #12 Mike Berry (7.28), #6 Andrew Hines (7.19) vs #11 Angelle Sampey (7.27), #7 Jerry Savoie (7.20) vs #10 Cory Reed (7.27) and #8 Joey Gladstone (7.22) vs #9 Karen Stoffer (7.26). The winners and who they would face in the second round were Eddie Krawiec (7.15) and Joey Gladstone (7.23), LE Tonglet (7.26) and Scotty Pollacheck (7.20), Hector Arana Jr (7.19) and Jerry Savoie (7.23) and Matt Smith (7.21) and Andrew Hines (7.19). The semifinals were Eddie Krawiec (7.18) vs Scotty Pollacheck (7.19) and Jerry Savoie (7.19) vs Matt Smith (7.24). The finals featured Eddie Krawiec (7.19) and the Vance and Hines Harley Davidson team and Matt Smith (7.22) and the Victory Gunner team. With the winner being Eddie Krawiec (7.14). This is Eddie’s second win of the season.
